WHN has promoted assistant solicitor Eleanor Longworth to the role of associate in its commercial property dispute resolution team.
Her appointment is part of WHN’s ongoing strategy of developing its talented solicitors in order to create further business growth across Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
Eleanor’s fresh remit involves taking on management responsibilities, including developing new staff and generating business in the complex legal sphere of commercial property dispute resolution.
Specialising in landlord and tenant dispute work, Eleanor has developed deep expertise in the niche areas of dilapidations, possessions, insolvency related disputes, arrears recovery and lease renewal matters. She also has extensive experience of dealing with residential long leasehold dispute resolution.
Eleanor is based at WHN’s Bury office, where she works closely with Daniel Long, who is director and head of commercial at the firm.
Daniel commented: “Eleanor has been an exceptional assistant solicitor in the litigation team over the past seven years as we have developed our niche landlord and tenant dispute team. Eleanor is a true specialist in this complex area of law and has also demonstrated a real aptitude for growing this type of work, contributing significantly to the team and the firm as a whole.
“On a personal level, I am very proud to have watched Eleanor progress from a paralegal to an associate. Eleanor has shown that she has the ability to take on extra management and business development responsibilities alongside the specialist landlord and tenant advice she provides. This promotion is a deserved recognition of this, as well as the considerable hard work Eleanor has put in.”
Aged 30, Eleanor joined WHN as a paralegal in 2012 and started her training contract later that year, before qualifying as a solicitor in 2014. Previously, she attended Newcastle University where she gained a degree in law. Eleanor comes from Baxenden and lives in Crawshawbooth near Rawtenstall.
Eleanor said: “I am absolutely thrilled with my promotion, which will enable me to continue growing personally and professionally within the WHN family. I am very excited about developing fresh business opportunities as well as taking on additional management responsibilities.”
