A solicitor advocate at Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall has successfully become a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel, meaning she can act on behalf of children.
Kate Allsop, 29 and situated at the firm’s Bury office, attained the accreditation following a rigorous process of assessment in the field of Child Law, culminating with a panel interview in London.
Kate, who is also head of the domestic violence team, achieved the Higher Rights qualification in 2012 to act for clients in the High Court. Having demonstrated a deep level of knowledge and expertise in the legal rights of children. Now being a member of the Children Panel will also make her best placed in cases where Social Services are involved or when children are removed from their parents.
Kate commented: “I have always had a drive to keep developing and achieving, the accreditation makes all the hard work worthwhile.
“Clients which we assist have often gone through a very stressful time and our personal skills and expertise makes their experience a whole lot easier.
“Being a member of the panel will no doubt bring an added dimension to my client work now I am able to represent children in care proceedings.”
All family solicitors at Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall in Bury now possess the accreditation and are just a handful of lawyers in the region who can act on behalf of children.
