Helen Law, a specialist solicitor at WHN Solicitors, has gained a Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) full accreditation, recognising her expertise and personal skills in advising and supporting vulnerable clients.
The full accreditation further enhances Helen’s already extensive skillset. She is also a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), advising on the preparation of wills, trusts, estate planning and the administration of estates. In addition, Helen holds a rarely awarded STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) diploma at distinction level.
Helen became an SFE member in 2008 – when she scored 100 per cent in the exam – and played an active role in the organisation as its Lancashire Regional Co-ordinator, organising training courses for fellow SFE members in the Lancashire area.
In order to gain the prestigious industry accolade, Helen undertook a rigorous assessment to prove she is able to easily communicate and explain complex legal matters in a sensitive and compassionate way.
Helen, who is based between the Great Harwood and Blackburn offices of WHN Solicitors, said: “SFE is an independent, national organisation of lawyers, such as solicitors, barristers, and chartered legal executives, who provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.”
Helen added: “It’s a great honour to receive this accreditation as it adds additional depth to the extensive expertise of our older client team at WHN.”
Helen was born and and raised in Rawtenstall and attended Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School before studying for her degree in Law with French Leeds Polytechnic.
She completed her articles with WHN and worked at the firm’s Haslingden, Ramsbottom and Bury offices, qualifying as a solicitor 1992. Helen moved to a Bolton law firm in 2002 before returning to her roots at WHN in 2014.
