Early Christmas Present for Children in Bury

Leading law firm, Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall has once again thrown its weight behind a Bury Council Christmas gifts campaign.

The firm based on Manchester Road, Bury has pledged to support children in care this Christmas by donating a host of gifts.

This will be the eighth year that WHN has supported the council’s fostering team by donating Christmas gifts which range from craft sets and Peppa Pig toys for youngsters to gift sets and games for older children.

The presents totalling £400 were wrapped and distributed to children at the Children in Care Christmas party.

Solicitor at Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall, Kate Allsop, said: “As a firm that works so closely with community organisations and groups, we understand that they rely on local businesses to lend a hand when it comes to fundraising.

“The gift campaign is a great way for us to bring cheer to children in Bury who may not have had the easiest of years.”

Kath Price, Assistant Fostering Team Manager at Bury Council’s Children’s’ Services team added: “The donation of gifts each year from businesses like Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall enable us to ensure we put a smile on the faces of everyone at our Christmas party.”

There are more than 300 children in care in Bury looked after by foster carers and families.
