WHN Solicitors recently secured a sum of almost £370,000 for a client who suffered an accident at home as a result of her Landlords’ failure to carry out necessary repairs to the property she rented.
In 2009 our client had an accident in her property leading to a knee injury. In spite of many years of treatment, she has not recovered. She suffers constant pain, is unable to walk without crutches, and is having to resort increasingly to using a wheelchair as a direct result of the injury.
Prior to consulting WHN she had approached other firms of solicitors who were not prepared to take her claim on. Although the Landlords initially denied liability for the accident, WHN continued to work on the case and represent the client
Persistence paid off and the landlords’ insurers eventually admitted liability and after negotiations, a settlement figure was agreed. WHN continue to assist our client too by guiding her on how best to invest the compensation to support her financially in future years.
Catherine Hamilton who is a personal injury solicitor at WHN represented the client throughout the claim. She said: “We understand how traumatic it can be for people following an injury, especially if it wasn’t their fault.
“That’s why our dedicated team of personal injury solicitors approach each person as an individual with understanding and ongoing support.”
