A Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall Solicitors property development client has revealed that construction work is set to commence in the new year on a multi-million-pound Llyn Peninsula hotel and apartment complex.
Preston-based commercial and residential property developer Providence Gate Group Holdings (PGGH) is bringing the new hotel, named The Abersoch, to life, with an opening date set for summer 2024.
The hotel will be operated by Bespoke Hotels, which runs Chester’s Grosvenor Hotel. The new development will be built on the site of the former Whitehouse Hotel, which closed its doors in 2004 and was later demolished in 2016.
Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall Solicitors (WHN), which has seven offices across the county, as well as one office in Greater Manchester, advised PGGH on the acquisition of the site from Broomco (Whitehouse) Limited, which secured planning permission for the new development in 2015.
The Abersoch will house 42 luxury bedrooms and suites, restaurant, bar with sea-view terraces, event spaces, gym, spa with swimming pool, treatment rooms and thermal suite over three floors. The top two floors above the hotel will also comprise 18 private apartments.
Daniel Boulton, director at WHN Solicitors, said: “We’re proud to be working in partnership with Providence Gate to help bring this exciting new hotel in Abersoch to fruition.
“It’s not only expected to generate 150 new jobs in the area but will also revitalise a site that has stood derelict since 2004, while helping to boost the tourism economy in this area of Wales.”
Charlie Openshaw, development director at Providence Gate Group Holdings, said: “The demand for staycation accommodation has risen sharply in the Abersoch and North Wales areas as it has throughout the UK.
“Our development, on the site of the previous Whitehouse Hotel, will help meet some of that demand without displacing or converting existing properties.
“We’re extremely keen to see the hotel play a full role in the local community and create jobs for local people both during the construction process and the subsequent operation of the hotel.”
Thomas Greenall, CEO, Bespoke Hotels, said: “We’re very excited to see the development of the luxury Abersoch Hotel edge closer towards completion. This is another significant milestone in the journey to offering a unique destination in this coastal hidden gem.
“With 42 bedrooms, a deluxe spa with a swimming pool overlooking the bay and a coastal themed restaurant serving fresh, locally sourced ingredients, guests will experience a relaxed and glamorous getaway – we can’t wait for the opening.”
